Some people’s new self-heating coats have been catching fire due to faulty wiring.
The new innovative self-heating coat by 8K Flexwarm seemed like the ideal winter jacket to keep you warm through the colder months until they started to set on fire.
The heated apparel has heating technology which can achieve temperatures of up to 50 degrees in just a few minutes.
However, due to a wiring issue with the latest batch, customers have been complaining about overheating and even problems with the coat catching fire.
One man who purchased the coat told Pseudo News about his experience: “I bought the jacket before going on a skiing holiday last month, I thought a self-heating coat would be a great investment especially as winter is approaching.
It worked fine for the two weeks that I was away in the Alpes, but when I returned to the UK the temperature seemed to rise and rise.
I thought it might have been due to the difference in climates that I was wearing it in and I just hadn’t adapted back to slightly milder one.
Then one day I felt a searing pain all over my body. I took the jacket off and it went up in flames!
I couldn’t believe it, £169.99 gone up in smoke right before my eyes! I’m lucky to be alive.”
8K Flexman has not yet commented on the customer’s issue and no other coats have been reported of setting on fire.
So in the meantime, we recommend you shop around before you buy one of these self-heating coats and perhaps refrain from buying one for your father in law.
