New parents refuse to celebrate Christmas with their newborn until she turns 5.
For most children, Christmas is the most wonderful and magical time of the year, but at what age do they actually become aware of what goes on on 25 December?
Well, one new set of parents have decided that until their newborn baby girl turns 5 they won’t be buying her any presents because she won’t notice a difference.
Speaking to Pseudo News, Charl and James Newman said: “Money has been really tight this year after giving birth to little Penny and we didn’t have a clue how we were going to get through Christmas.
So after discussing it for some time, we decided that until Penny is old enough to understand the concept of Christmas, the 25th is going to be like any other normal day.
Kids don’t remember their first few Christmases anyway so we thought we would save the money so we can spoil her in a few years time.
Until she goes to pre-school and they start learning about Santa we will keep it under wraps for the time being.
Eventually, we will, of course, celebrate it like any other normal family and she won’t miss out on a thing!”
This concept of keeping Santa a secret from young Children and babies has become more and more popular in the 21st century, as it has become the most expensive holidays of the year.
